Business and Enterprises

The Intermunicipal Community of Tâmega e Sousa is responsible for:
 

• Drawing up, in conjunction with the development options at regional level, the overall strategy for the respective sub-regions, including the diagnosis and identification of the needs and opportunities of the territories;
   
• Drawing up the action programme, including the indicative planning of the investments to be made, for the pursuit of the strategy referred to in the previous point;
   
• Defining, implementing and monitoring programmes to attract productive business investment on a sub-regional scale, including participation in the support processes, with regard to the sub-regional aspect, in the analysis of applications, the application of selection criteria and the drafting of proposals for the selection of applications to be financed;
   
• Stimulating and promoting the economic potential of the respective sub-regions at national and international level;
   
• Managing integrated programmes or integrated projects into sub-regional development programmes;
   
• Preparing and coordinating the implementation of technical and financial cooperation projects with the Central Administration and projects co-funded by the European Union to which the Intermunicipal Community of Tâmega e Sousa is a party;
   
• Promoting the coordination of the Intermunicipal Community of Tâmega e Sousa with public sector services and the private and co-operative sector in the implementation of projects related to innovation and competitiveness;
   
• Integrating the monitoring committees for the drafting, review and amendment of municipal master plans, sectoral policy plans or instruments and special land-use plans;
   
• Fostering intermunicipal cooperation and ensuring coordination between institutions, helping to strengthen their internal and external competitiveness based on sustainable development strategies;
   
• Promoting the coordination of regional development policies implemented by the Intermunicipal Community of Tâmega e Sousa with stakeholders in the region;
   
• Ensuring the implementation of actions that promote entrepreneurship, business incubation and support for business initiative;
   
• Organising and participating in the organisation of seminars and forums or other events of interest to the Intermunicipal Community of Tâmega e Sousa and associated municipalities;
   
• Promoting the agri-food sector;
   
• Ensuring the implementation of actions that promote interaction between existing institutions in the Intermunicipal Community of Tâmega e Sousa and others at national and international level;
   
• Planning and developing intermunicipal actions for the digital transition that enable the empowerment and digital inclusion of citizens, the digital transformation of the business fabric and the digitalisation of local administration.
