Castelo de Paiva

The municipality of Castelo de Paiva is the only municipality in Tâmega e Sousa that is part of the Aveiro district.

 

It has an area of 115.01 km2, making it the third smallest municipality in the sub-region, and just over 15,500 inhabitants, making it the second least populated municipality in the sub-region.

 

The metal products and footwear industries are the most important economic activities, while maintaining strong elements of rurality.
